The Muganza washing station was established in 2005 and is one of the three owned by the Koakaka cooperative. The group is comprised currently of 111 members using roughly 130 seasonal workers at the washing station during the harvest.
During harvest, the deliveries each day get pulped the same evening using a mechanical pulper. The coffee is then fermented for 12-18 hours in tiled tanks without water. They are then soaked for 14 hours before being dried on raised beds for 2 weeks.
